Most major airlines offer direct or connecting flights to Amsterdam Schiphol
Airport (AMS).
Travel to Delft from Schiphol Airport
Train:
You may take the train from Schiphol to Delft. For more information, please
enquire at the Dutch rail company (NS) counter which is located in the main
hall (after you leave the baggage claim area) by the "Meeting Point"
(a giant red&white checkerboard cube).
You may buy your ticket at the counter which offers several payment options.
The fare is around 12 euros.
Note that the automatic vending machines
(yellow and blue in the colors of the NS)
only accept coins or Dutch bank cards.
Taxi:
You may also take a taxi. Taxis stop at the curb outside the airport.
Fares to Delft are around 100 euros.
Car:
Most major Car Rental companies have counters at Schiphol airport.
Important
:
when planning your trip, especially by train, you may want to take
into account that extensive construction work is ongoing at the Delft train
station and surrounding areas.
How to reach the Delft University of Technology
In Delft, you may take the bus (lines 69, 40, 121, 174) to get to the
University. Stops: Aula TU (lines 69, 121, 174); Cornelis Drebbelweg (line 40).
The one-way fare is 2.50 euros. You can also rent a bike at the
tourist office.
The hotels listed above are within half an hour walk from the meeting's venue.

for things to do in Delft. Note that other interesting tourist destinations are
easily reached by train from Delft. For example: Amsterdam (1 hour)
and Rotterdam (15 minutes). The Netherlands is at its best in April with
all the flowers in full bloom. The famous flower park
Keukenhof
will already be open for the 2012 season during the dates of the meeting.
If you wish to continue your visit beyond our borders, Rotterdam offers
fast rail connections to main cities in Europe, including
Paris (2.5 hours) and Brussels (1.5 or 2 hours). From Brussels,
the Eurostar will take you to London in no time and the TGV
to many cities in France.
